在位于阿伯丁的一家新的希尔顿酒店，155间客房都在中国建成、装修，然后运到英国重新组装在一起。在订购之前客房的每个细节都已经决定好了，从家具、设备到盒子里的水壶茶杯。类似的酒店若采用传统方式建造需要56-60周，而这种模块化建筑需要花44周，现场施工时间为4周。
在美国黄石国家公园，9000万美元的峡谷小屋以及项目中的三个模块化酒店是在六个月内建成的，而传统建筑需要30个月。
但是随着技术的进步，允许更多的定制打开了创意产品的大门。
