据普吉岛公报报道，每年到普吉岛的游客都有可能会入住营业执照或非法酒店。C9 Hotelworks最新报告数据显示，全省只有不到四分之一的酒店（429家酒店1,724间客房）目前有获得营业许可。
普吉岛前州长Chokchai Dejamornthan去年宣布了整治无牌酒店的计划，同时呼吁游客当心不要住到无牌酒店。虽然无牌酒店的注册截止日期2017年1月31日已过，C9 Hotelworks强调，这一颇具挑战的局面还将持续。
