10月16日，华侨城与广东省湛江签订全域旅游开发合作协议，将在旅游景区改造提升、重点旅游项目打造、三旧改造等领域开展全面合作，未来五年投资金额不低于500亿元。
据悉，此次华侨城在湛江投资的旅游项目布局为“两轴三节点”，其中“两轴”具体指的是、G15沈海高速这条贯穿湛江、雷州、徐闻的旅游中轴线，以及沿湛江滨海公路、东部海岸线构成的滨海旅游轴线。
